Sad Girls
One upon a time lived a girl, named Lily. Lily was beautiful and kindness but she had broken family. Every day of her life had been the same routine. She wake up go to work, eat, and come back to sleep. Except, unlike other people she work at odd hours. She sleep during the day and go to work late at night. When she was a little girl her mother would always work late at night and every time her would come back with a different guy, they would always spend the night and by the time her woke up their were gone. It wasn’t just her mother, her aunty also worked at the same place. When she was young she asked her mother and her aunty “who were the men came by the house so often?” her mother would say that these people gave their the ability to have a life and that when she was older she would understand what it meant to survive.
Sometimes she would see these men and wonder if one of them could be her dad? Did their know about her or wonder how she is? She always hope that her father would come and rescue her. She just wanted to be like everyone else and she always got jealous of her friends when they spoke about their families. She grew up believing that the only way to survive in this world was to never questions but always follow whatever her mother and her aunty did. They did everything they could to provide for their family even if it meant using their bodies.
She remember so clearly the day that her mother gave up her dreams for them. She was in the fourth grade and her aunty ask her mother to drop out of university to help her make a living. Actually, her mother didn’t want to but her had no choice. Sometimes there wouldn’t be many customers and her mother and her aunty would have to work less. This meant they wouldn’t have any money or anything to eat for days. Those times were always so hard on their family because her mother would get so stressed and drink a lot.
She didn’t understand why they had to struggle or why her mother’s work was so different from everyone else. She was only a kid, she didn’t understand what was going on or why she had to do this. She just wanted to be a good girl and do whatever she could to make her mother proud. The first time it happened, her mother told not to be afraid and that she doing a great thing for their family. Her mother said that it would hurt a little but that the pain would eventually go away but it was wrong. She still feel the pain and the fear never went away.
After the man was finished she would got the money and the man left her. She sat on the bedroom floor wondering why her? Once she was done she got home and for the first time her mother didn’t get angry, instead she told how proud she was of her daughter. Her mother said that she was such a good girl and she is doing a great thing to help provide for their family.
